Is English important for business?

Yes, it is. As English is the official language of the business world, it’s essential to have a good understanding of English to communicate effectively. Taking a Business English course online with Lingoda will improve your English and teach you specific terminology used in a workplace environment.

What is the difference between English and Business English?

The difference between the two is that while a general English course covers a wide variety of topics, some relating to the workplace, Business English classes have a specific focus on content related to the professional world. In Business English lessons, you will learn phrases and terminology to use in the workplace. You will also learn how to prepare and perform in an interview, negotiate a contract, deal with meetings, criticism, feedback, schedule or cancel appointments, and network in a business environment. What you will learn in a Business English class is more specific to a work environment and will help you advance in a competitive market.

Is Business English hard?

Like any language, learning a new language depends on your mother tongue. For some people, English (and so Business English) will be easier to learn than other languages. And for others, it will be more challenging. Certain phrases are more commonly used in English to communicate specific things, so a part of Business English lessons is to become familiar with those structures and colloquial expressions. However, the benefit of taking a Business English course when you’re in or about to enter the job market is that you will get regular opportunities to practise what you have learned.
