Hi I'm David, a passionate mathematics teacher with over 15 years of experience in teaching and mentoring students from middle school to high school. I have been dedicated to helping students reach their potential and passion for math, dispelling the myth that it is a difficult subject.

Hi I'm David, a passionate mathematics teacher with over 15 years of experience in teaching and mentoring students from middle school to high school. I have been dedicated to helping students reach their potential and passion for math, dispelling the myth that it is a difficult subject.

I graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Financial Economics which gives me a deep background in real world math applications and learned how to leverage that knowledge while earning my M.Ed from CUNY. Having taught across all grade levels and math contents, I've developed a deep understanding of math's complexities and intricacies and how to use that to benefit students across various age groups, helping them understand and master concepts from basic arithmetic to calculus.

I have had the privilege of teaching in both formal classroom settings and one-on-one tutoring environments. This has allowed me to adapt my teaching methods to cater to students with diverse learning needs and abilities, making complex concepts understandable and enjoyable. I have a track record of transforming math-anxious students into confident problem solvers.

I believe that every student can excel in mathematics with the right guidance and encouragement. My teaching philosophy centers around patience, understanding, and interactive learning, fostering a positive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I use real-world applications and problem-solving strategies to make math relevant and less intimidating.

In addition to teaching math concepts, I also provide guidance and strategies for test preparation and homework assistance, helping students improve their scores in standardized tests like the SHSAT, SSAT, SAT, and ACT. As your tutor, I will not only help you understand math but also cultivate a genuine love for the subject. I look forward to helping you succeed in your math journey and beyond!

Reliable, organized, knowledgeable tutor

David efficiently crafted an intensive tutoring program for my 16 year old for Geometry Regents NYC. My daughter finds the content extremely challenging, and David was patient and understanding in his approach, teaching her in as effective a way possible within a short time frame. David could not be more knowledgeable in his subject, and is extremely organized and communicative. My daughter studied geometry for a year at school and felt she didn’t understand anything. David is a wonderful tutor! His teaching skills are evident in the way he approaches subjects and also in the way he interacts with students. My son can usually effectively mask and 'fake it' with most teachers. David makes sure to have my son lead at times by sharing his thinking and explaining his work. Effectively probing the true depth of his understanding - but David does it in a way that is inviting and open so my hesitant son is willing to share. Lessons are recorded so they can rewatch and review on their own. Wish we had found David last year!
